Peter
D. Murray – Mr. Murray, a Member of the Firm,
practices in the areas of real estate, corporate and business
law, commercial litigation, estate planning and probate administration.
Mr.
Murray has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate
law, from representing residential purchasers and sellers,
to representation of clients in complex commercial real estate
transactions from inception to close, to representation of
commercial lenders. . Among other things, Mr. Murray’s
commercial real estate practice includes the representation
of buyers and sellers in all phases of real property transactions,
starting with contract negotiation, proceeding to securing
of necessary land use permits and approvals and financing,
and concluding with bringing transactions to a close. Mr.
Murray also routinely counsels clients on the availability
and feasibility of structuring real estate transactions to
maximize tax deferral and savings, including tax-deferred
exchanges under Internal Revenue Code §1031. Included
in his residential real estate practice is one-on-one representation
of home buyers and sellers and counseling with respect to
all issues that may arise, legal or otherwise. Whether residential
or commercial matters, the representation includes negotiating
contracts, securing financing, examining title commitments
and addressing all matters through the closing. Mr. Murray
also has extensive experience in reviewing real property title
issues and routinely provides professional title opinions
in furtherance of identifying encumbrances to title and resolving
real property title disputes.
Mr.
Murray’s corporate and business representation includes
the organization and counseling of business entities such
as limited liability companies and corporations to representation
of purchasers and sellers of businesses. The representation
includes contract negotiations, contract drafting, finance
coordination, and counsel on transaction types available.
Mr.
Murray’s estate planning and probate administration
practice includes counsel on estate plans and tax issues,
drafting documents including wills and living trusts as well
as representing estates through the Surrogate Court’s
probate and administration process.
Mr.
Murray’s representation is guided by the goal of consummating
smooth, beneficial and stress free transactions for his clients
through hands-on, personal representation.
Mr.
Murray received his law degree from Albany Law School of Union
University in 1997, from which he graduated cum laude, and
received his undergraduate degree from St. Bonaventure University.
